Your code is entered at sign-up, inside the app, and it is what applies the $3 rate. Point people at the download page and give them the code to type — that is the whole mechanism.

Anyone can join the NovaHUD referral programme with nothing but an email address. There is no application, no approval step and no waiting list — the code is created the moment you ask for one, and it is permanent.
Anyone who signs up using your code pays $3 a month instead of $5. You earn between $1 and $4 for each person who subscribes, depending on how many you have referred so far.
Your email address is used for one purpose: sending you earnings reports and the link you cash out through.

A worked example
What twenty people actually pays
The rate is a ladder, not a switch: each person is paid at the rate that applied when they subscribed, so earlier referrals do not get topped up and later ones are not held back.
Refer twenty people who subscribe and it works out like this — four at $1, fifteen at $2, and the twentieth at $3.
That is $37, and it is past the $25 you need before you can cash out. The twenty of them are each paying $3 a month rather than $5.

How it works, both sides
For the person using your code
They pay $3 a month instead of $5 — the referred monthly rate. They still get the same 3-day free trial first, with no credit card.
Nothing about the app is different. The discount applies to the monthly plan.
For you
You earn $1 to $4 for each person who subscribes with your code, at the rate for how many you have already referred.
A bounty is paid once per referred person, when their first payment clears. It is a one-off amount rather than a recurring cut.

Referral questions
Who can join the referral programme?
Anyone. You do not need to own NovaHUD, and there is no approval step. An email address is the only requirement.
How much does a referral earn?
$1 each for your first four subscribers, $2 each from the fifth through the nineteenth, $3 each from the twentieth through the forty-ninth, and $4 each from the fiftieth onwards.
When do I get paid?
A bounty is earned when a referred person's first payment clears. You cash out through Stripe once your balance reaches $25.
What is my email used for?
Sending you earnings reports and the link you cash out through. The privacy page covers what is stored.
Do codes expire?
No. Codes are permanent, and asking again with the same email address returns the code you already have rather than creating a second one.
Is there any other plan the code applies to?
There is only one plan, so there is nothing else for it to apply to: the code takes the monthly price from $5 to $3, and it stays there for as long as the subscription runs.
